We have observed the linear coupling between an electrostatic ion cyclotron wave and an ion acoustic wave near the second-harmonic ion cyclotron frequency for propagation of an electrostatic ion wave along a magnetic field, where the wave number perpendicular to the magnetic field k_⊥ exists.
