A new plastic mixture has been formulated to approximate closely to cortical bone with respect to photon, electron, and neutron interactions. The mixture is amenable to standard moulding methods and is well suited for use as electrodes in ionisation chambers and proportional counters. The design, preparation, and properties of the new formulation are described.
