A simple displacement process for the large-scale synthesis of Pt nanofiber/nanotube junction structure at room temperature was present. The introduction of CTAB as a structure-inducing agent led to the controlled growth of such novel structures. Platinum nanofibers and nanotubes can be easily separated from these junctions via a combination of sonication and centrifugation.
