The reaction of LiR with M(η 5:η 1:η 1 -C 5 Me 4 SiMe 2 NCH 2 CH 2 OMe)Cl 2 ( 1, M = Zr ( a ), Hf ( b )) gives the isolable, thermally stable complexes M(η 5:η 1:η 1 -C 5 Me 4 SiMe 2 NCH 2 CH 2 OMe)R 2 (R = Et ( 2 ), n Pr ( 3 ), n Bu( 4 )), which contain two alkyl ligands with β-hydrogen atoms.
