Thermally stimulated currents in PTFE depend on the grade. 'Fluoron' G163 was found to have a marked response in contrast to other grades investigated. The initial single-peak temperature depended on the rate of heating (200 degrees C at 4 degrees C s -1 ), but was gradually replaced by a peak 35 degrees C lower on annealing. Both the peak height and the area under the peak were found to vary linearly with exposure over the range 2-500 R.
