The authors report the first confirmed findings of Lentinellus ursinus (Fr.) Kühn. in Czechoslovakia from five localities. They compare it with L. castoreus (Fr.) Konr. et Maubl. and provide a provisional key to European Lentinellus species. Differences in amyloidity of trama hyphae are discussed as the primary diagnostic character.
