A fluorimeter for measurment of decay times between some nanoseconds and one tenth second at temperatures from 77 to 500 K, is described. The instrument comprises a flash lamp for the excitation, two grating monochrmators of large aperture, one of them giving a selective excitation, the other selecting emission bands, and a measurement circuit which includes, for decay times lower than 30 us, a sampling oscilloscope and for slower decays, a averager type « boxcar ».
