A one-year limnological investigation was conducted on an unnamed cold springbrook in Putnam County, Tennessee. The study was undertaken to analyze the components of invertebrate biocoenoses, to record population fluxes, and to determine possible factors affecting abundance and interactions between members of the communities of a relatively uniform habitat. Fifty-nine taxa of invertebrates were recorded. Relative abundance was greatest in February and lowest in July. The surrounding deciduous forest was determined to have the greatest effect on species composition and abundance of the fauna of the springbrook.
