An approximate graphical method is presented for the estimation of activation energy from thermogravimetric traces. The method is applied to octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and to poly (tetrafluoro ethylene). Good agreement was obtained between calculated and reported values. Advantages and disadvantages of the method are given.
