The magnetic properties of the quasibinary system of CrS1–xSex (x = 0 to 1.0) are studied. X-ray analysis shows the nickel arsenide type crystal structure for all over the composition. From the magnetic susceptibility measurements the solid solutions of the system are found to be antiferromagnetic. Unit cell dimensions and the Néel temperature of the system vary linearly with concentration. The thermal expansion studies show the thermal expansion coefficient anomaly around the Néel temperature.
