A well-defined magnesium hydroxide complex has been synthesized by using a tris(pyrazolyl)hydroborato ligand with p-tert-butylphenyl substituents. Specifically, the dinuclear complex {[TpAr,Me]Mg(μ-OH)}2 (Ar = p-ButC6H4) is prepared by the reaction of the magnesium alkyl derivative [TpAr,Me]MgMe with H2O.
