The UCL ageing procedure submits a compacted mixture, highly porous, to different periods of time in a convection oven at 163 °C, assessing the level of bitumen ageing directly on the specimen, without the need to recover the bitumen, by applying the cantabro test to assess the degradation of cohesive properties given by the binder. This study presents the results obtained by applying this method to analyze the influence of the aggregates type in the binder's ageing in contact with them. This application has revealed the great influence of the porosity of the mixture and the thickness of the binder film on the ageing process of the bitumen, as well as the influence of the aggregate texture.
