The detection, by means of a correlation technique, of pure rotational Raman scattering from H2 in Jupiter in the 350( 3900 A region is described. The combined intensity of the 5(0) and 5(1) pure rotational Raman lines is found to be 3.3 j 0.9 (p.e.) percent of the total observed intensity in this spectral region.
