Superposed dark-zone patterns in field-ion images of ordered Ni4Mo have been observed to exhibit the symmetry of the disordered f.c.c. cell as well as that of the ordered b.c.t. cell. The behaviour of these two patterns at domain boundaries and crystal interfaces is demonstrated, and a possible interpretation is presented.
