Reaction of L Li ( L = ArNC(Me)CHC(Me)NAr, Ar = 2,6-Me 2 C 6 H 3 ) with [Rh(COE) 2 Cl] 2 (COE = cyclooctene) produces stable, three-coordinate L Rh(COE) ( 1 ). At room temperature in solution, the L Rh fragment moves rapidly over one face of the COE ligand via reversible allyl hydride formation.
