In Si: Au rapidly quenched two centres are observed by EPR, the first of which is investigated in this paper. The spectrum, is characterized by a dominating Zeeman interaction and by a nuclear quadrupole interaction large compared to the hyperfine interaction. Passage conditions depend on the direction of the magnetic field. The lattice site of the gold atom localized in a trigonal distortion is supposed to be an interstitial one.
