The Ea-B genotype defined by hemagglutination was previously shown to influence resistance to tumors induced by Rous sarcoma virus, Marek's disease virus, and RAV-1 virus in 63 × 151 F4–5 chickens. In this study we show that the B-genotype defined by agglutination was also associated with differences in rapidity of skin graft rejection and in responsiveness of mixed lymphocyte cultures. We conclude that F6 chickens differing for Ea-B antigens also differed for the major transplantation antigens and that the potential locus influencing general tumor resistance may conceivably be any one of the tightly linked subloci in the B-haplotype.
