The population of single men seeking help for sexual dysfunctions is briefly described. The treatments proposed for this group are critically reviewed. The main strategies employed were: (a) enhanced control over sexual response through the teaching of a variety of behavioral techniques; (b) improved interpersonal abilities through social skills training; and (c) better information about sexuality through various educational methods. Well controlled studies were few and the resuls, although clearly useful for some of the patients, are not as yet truly efficient. Ways of improving available treatment as well as directions for future research are discussed.
