The optically active O-Benzyl-l-serine was prepared in 78% yield by the enzymatic resolution of the N-acetyl derivative with Takadiastase. Dl-Seryl-glycine was prepared by the N. C. A. method of Bailey and Dl-seryl-l-leucine was synthesized by the Fischer’s acid chloride method respectively. As was expected, it was found that O-benzyl-serine can be utilized as the starting material in the peptide syntheses.
