This paper investigates the broadband vibration suppression performance of marine mounting systems with multiple dynamic vibration absorbers (MDVAs). A theoretical model is developed to evaluate the effects of MDVA design parameters on foundation vibration transmission and suppression bandwidth. Comparative analysis shows that the effectiveness of vibration suppression depends significantly on the MDVAs/attached structure mass ratio. Specifically, MDVAs mounted on lower-mass structures demonstrate superior vibration attenuation. Optimal absorber placement varies with system specific configuration. The study also identifies limitation of normalised mechanical resistance. Instead, an overall gain evaluation index is proposed, which integrates mechanical resistance and mounting system parameters, offering a more accurate assessment of vibration attenuation and suppression bandwidth. The theoretical model and proposed index are validated through FEA and prototype experiments. The findings also suggest these insights could facilitate the integration of emerging technologies, such as metamaterials, into advanced vibration control systems for maritime applications.
