The experimental and theoretical investigations of a solid‐state Raman laser operating in the continuous‐wave regime are described. The Raman laser represents the single resonant cavity with a Raman crystal. The theoretically predicted operation threshold is in agreement with that observed experimentally. The Raman conversion efficiency of the Stokes radiation is close to 5%. The analysis of temporal fluctuations of the output Stokes signal shows its super‐Gaussian statistics near the threshold. The output Stokes radiation was used for the measurement of the spontaneous Raman spectrum of CCl4.
