It is demonstrated that the Hartree-Fock integral equations in momentum space can be put into a form where the kernel function is the collision amplitude in Born approximation (with exchange) for the collision of an additional incident electron with the system under consideration. The possibility of an experimental determination of the kernel function is discussed.
