A second-order continuum distorted-wave-eikonal initial state approximation in the straight-line version of the impact parameter formalism is introduced by means of the Dodd and Greider (1966) formulation. Differential and total cross sections for K-K shell charge transfer are compared with other theoretical results as well as with experimental data. Moreover, absolute values of the real and imaginary parts of the transition amplitude are analysed.
