An analogue chaotic system is not stable under the influence of noise and environment, thus it is not suitable for some practical use, such as cryptographic application. Therefore, a more efficient way is to use digital systems. Trying to realize the chaotic systems in digital computers with computing precisions always leads a dynamical degradation of chaotic properties. Some methods for improving the dynamical degradation of digital chaotic systems have been proposed; however, none of them has solved this problem, except for improving some of the chaotic properties. In this paper, we propose an analogue–digital mixed method for solving the dynamical degradation of digital chaotic system. We prove that the analogue–digital mixed system is chaotic under Wiggins's chaos definition. Some numerical experiments are also given in this paper.
