A simple quasiperiodic arrangement made up of three building blocks is introduced in terms of a third-order Fibonacci series. We obtain a dynamical system for the series of transfer matrices for the one-dimensional Schr\"odinger equation and derive the reduced dynamical map of the traces. This map has some unique features compared with the second-order Fibonacci series.
