This study reports on the high yield synthesis of new Si-containing polyimides which exhibit melting points between 140 and 400°C and degradation temperatures between 279 and 460°C. As a result of their meltability without decomposition, some of these materials have enormous potential in the production of complex shaped plastic parts for HT applications.
