The kinetics of eosinophil granulocytes have been studied in rats by autoradiography of blood smears made at different times after a single injection of tritiated thymidine. The main results are 1) The average generation time of eosinophil precursors is about 40 hours – 2) The emergence time for blood eosinophils is 36 hours – 3) The Blood Transit Time of eosinophils has a maximal value of 24 hours.
