Analyzing emergent issues in women's health, where the issue and its implications are still ambiguous but nevertheless have important consequences for women's health, poses particular problems for feminist researchers. Using the toxic‐shock syndrome as an example of such an issue, this paper reviews aspects of such analysis involving method, frameworks, and sources of data.
