The apparatus can be programmed to carry out the following sequence of operations: Feeding of a sample of preselected size from a batch of mixture into the column. Separation of the sample into its components. Feeding of the components into their respective cooling traps according to the programme. The sequence of these operations is repeated automatically a chosen number of times .
