Radiosynthesis and Biological Evaluation of 188Re-5,10,15,20-Tetra(4-pyridyl)-21H,23H-porphyrin Complex as a Tumor-Targeting Agent

188 Re-5,10,15,20-tetra(4-pyridyl)-21 H ,23 H -porphyrin, [ 188 Re]TMPP, a tumor-targeted agent, was prepared. Under optimum conditions, the 188 Re-TMPP yield after purification exceeded 98%. Biodistribution studies showed high tumor uptake of the agent within 30 min post injection (17.5 ± 1.1% ID/g) for Swiss Albino mice bearing Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC). [ 188 Re]TMPP can be considered as a highly selective radiotracer for highly replicating solid tumors.
