Endothelial cells separated from the vein of human umbilical cords were capable of stimulating allogeneic lymphocytes in mixed lymphocyte endothelial cultures. The degree of stimulation observed with endothelial cells was generally less than that for mitomycin treated lymphocytes, but of the same order of magnitude. Endothelial cells proved non‐stimulatory to autologous lymphocytes separated from cord blood.
