The susceptibility of larvae and post‐larvae of Penaeus indicus, P. monodon, and P. semisulcatlls to a Vibrio campbellii‐like bacterium was studied by immersion challenge. Exposure to bacteria caused up to 100% mortality, depending upon bacterial dose and time of exposure. Mortality rate was higher for nauplius and protozoeal stages than for mysis and post‐larval stages. Based upon LC50 values at different time intervals, P. monodon was found to be the most sensitive of the three shrimp species to this pathogen.
