We have tested 49 men in different stages of the Walter Reed staging classification (2) for neopterin concentrations in serum and urine. Forty-six men were homosexuals and 3 were parenteral drug addicts. They were repeatedly tested up to five times, at regular intervals of 2 weeks during a period of 3 months. In total, 208 serum samples and 160 urine specimens were evaluated. Neopterin was measured in urine samples by high-performance liquid chromatography techniques (3) and in serum by a commercially available...References1. WACHTERFUCHSHAUSEN HDA.
