Biosensors for formate and ethanol were prepared by using graphite electrodes chemically modified with NMP+TCNQ−, together with molecular-weight enlarged NAD and the corresponding dehydrogenase. The molecular-weight of the NAD-PEG was about 20000 g/mol, hence it could be entrapped by a dialysis membrane.
