A male is said to be performing pseudo- female behaviour when it exhibits motor patterns belonging to the special sexual repertoire of the female. I refer here to the "special" sexual repertoire of the female because in many species mutual sexual displays (HUXLEY 1914) occur in which both sex partners perform together the same
