Many years of experience in ankle orthopaedic surgery has led to the creation of the “A.E.S” (Ankle Evolutive System) concept. Complications are rare, and walking autonomy is normally regained within 3 months. Its success depends not only on the clinical aptitude of the patient, but also on rigorous clinical and radiological preoperative planning to diagnose the causes of the ankle pathology and the likely success of associated surgery. The surgical procedure, which is simple and reliable, consists of 6 steps, which are carried out with the aid of specialized instruments that have been conceived by surgeons. Our results over the past 6 years have proved to be successful, and therefore, we recommended our prosthesis for young and old alike.
