Male Annihilation of the Oriental Fruit Fly, Dacus dorsalis Hendel (Diptera: Tephritidae): A New Thickener and Extender for Methyl Eugenol Formulations1

In a series of field tests, Min-U-Gel 400 was significantly superior to the thixotrope, Thixcin E, as a thickening agent for male annihilation formulations of methyl eugenol against the oriental fruit fly. Methyl eugenol with Min-U-Gel 400 proved to be easier to formulate and apply in spot application programs in California.
