THIS BOOK provides a concise reference point for students and practitioners. It is structured alphabetically beginning with ‘abdominal distention’ and finishing with ‘wristdrop’. The entries are defined and their pathophysiology explained briefly. An approach to history taking and physical examination is provided with diagrams and tables supplied where appropriate. Although each sign and symptom is related to several medical causes, the descriptions and advice provided are too brief to be of use to most practitioners.
