We report an intracavity optical parametric oscillator at 1.57 μm based on non-critically nonlinear crystal KTP driven by an end-pumped acousto-optically Q-switched Nd:LuVO 4 crystal. The output characteristics of 1.57 μm were studied with different pulse repetition frequency. The pulse width of 5ns, the maximum peak power and pulse energy of 4.8 kW and 24 μJ were obtained, respectively, with pulse repetition frequency of 5 kHz. The compression ration of pulse width was six times for 1.06 μm to 1.57 μm.
