A simple and efficient heterogeneous procedure has been developed for the synthesis of chalcones (α,β‐unsaturated ketones) by the Claisen–Schmidt condensation between arylaldehydes and ketones using Mg‐Al‐OtBu hydrotalcite (HT‐OtBu) as catalyst.
