The novel bis(phosphaferrocene)-substituted ferrocene 4 has been prepared from the corresponding cyclopentadienide 3 and shown to act as a P,P-chelate ligand in the Mo(CO) 4 complex 5, which was structurally characterized. Enantiomerically pure ( S, S )- 4 was used as ligand in the catalytic asymmetric allylic substitution.
