Recently developed technique of discontinuity effect compensation in coupled stripline directional couplers, regarding the connection of coupled and terminating signal lines, has been for the first time applied to the design of multilayer three‐strip 3‐dB directional couplers. Results of simulations and measurements are presented to confirm usefulness of the technique.
