The emission properties of o‐anisil, p‐anisil, benzil, and biacetyl in glasses containing varying proportions of isopropanol have been studied. The different kinds of phosphorescence spectra observed are proposed to be due to triplet states of different conformations and to triplet states of solvated species or other compounds formed by a reaction of the α‐diketones with isopropanol.
