The first-order Raman spectrum of the A 1g mode in SnO 2 crystal was measured in the temperature range of 300–973 K and the linewidths at these temperatures were obtained. The temperature dependence of the linewidths was analyzed using the phonon dispersion curves based on the shell model, and the results showed that it may have been caused provably by the cubic anharmonic term in crystal potential energy.
