The authors investigate the combined effect of the static perturbation due to a plasma ion microfield and the level population processes in determining the intensity of the dielectronic satellite lines (2p 2 ) 1 D to (1s2p) 1 P and (2s2p) 1 P to (1s2s) 1 S in hot and dense plasmas. The results confirm that besides the different mechanisms of level population, the quasistatic ions of the plasma must be taken into account in the calculation of the intensities of these satellites.
