We determine experimentally the intrinsic nonlinearities in semiconductor microcavities in the strong-coupling regime. The polariton coherent dynamics is investigated using four-wave mixing and analyzed by numerical resolution of the coupled Boch-Maxwell equations. Pauli blocking and Coulomb interactions are shown to induce different coherent dynamics and their relative contribution is measured as a function of the carrier density. It is shown in particular that phase-space filling can be the dominant nonlinearity even in the strong-coupling regime.
