Patent Update: Pulmonary-Allergy, Dermatological, Gastrointestinal & Arthritis: The search for inhibitors of the phospholipases A2

This review presents an appraisal of the patent literature concerning inhibitors of the various phospholipase A2 enzymes published between mid 1993 and April 1995, and is a continuation of a previous Patent Update which appeared in August 1993. The 47 patents reviewed are discussed under the categories of natural products, substrate analogues and other miscellaneous inhibitors. A further 36 references to articles in the primary literature are included to place the patent literature in context.
