Ion‐exchange equilibria measurements were made on soluble polystyrene sulfonic acids and polyacrylic acids of different exchange capacities. The exchange of Li+, Na+, Ca++, Ba++, and H+ against NH4+ was measured with the dialysis method. The results obtained are similar to those obtained with cross‐linked ion‐exchange resins. The selectivity for the selectively adsorbed ion increases with increasing exchange capacity.
