The thermal conductivity was found to correlate with the maximum absorption near 8.4 mu m in diamonds with A and/or B features. This result can be interpreted simply by correlating this absorption with the total nitrogen content. This interpretation and a more complicated one are relevant to the current debate about differences between A and B features.
