Radio observations of the rich cluster Abell 2256 at 151 MHz with a resolution of 4 arcmin show that there is a relatively compact component with a steep radio spectrum. There is no evidence for an extended steep-spectrum source of radio emission in this cluster as would be expected on the inverse Compton model. Our results are consistent with the presence of a hot cluster gas that would confine the radio source and produce X-ray emission by thermal bremsstrahlung.
